Self-Care for Moms
To be honest.
Some days, the idea of “self-care” seems ridiculous especially if you have littles. Like—oh sure, let me just slip into a Himalayan salt bath while my kids scream about who touched whose charger and who’s looking at them.
Here’s the thing though, we still need self-care. Not the perfectly curated version. The real-life kind.
May I present the I wish someone would have told me this when my kids were little and I felt like I couldn’t squeeze anymore life out of this body (no pun intended) 3-minute self-care that doesn’t require silence, money, or spa music. Choose one a day.
1. The “Lock Yourself in the Bathroom” Reset
You’ve done it before—now make it intentional.
- Rub a calming essential oil balm on your wrists or temples. I love peppermint.
- Close your eyes. Breathe in for 4 counts. Out for 4. Repeat twice.
- Bonus: Apply a cooling eye gel. Tiny luxury moment to look alive, unlocked.
💡 Science says slowing your breath lowers cortisol. So yeah, this counts.
2. The Driveway Detox
Before you go inside… just sit. Engine off. Music on (or total silence if that’s your vibe).
- Scroll something that makes you laugh.
- Listen to one favorite song from the early 2000s and sing like nobody’s watching you from the window wondering when you’re coming in.
- Sip your coffee while it’s still hot.
3. The Skin Ritual Sandwich
A little skincare, sandwiched between chaos.
- AM: Wash your face, apply SPF, and swipe on gloss or lip balm.
- PM: Cleanse. Moisturize. Maybe exfoliate if they haven’t found you yet.
- That’s it. 90 seconds x2 = a moment for YOU.
To be clear:
You don’t need 30 minutes.
You don’t need candles and spa playlists.
You need micro-moments that remind you you’re more than a snack-fetching, appointment-scheduling, meltdown-soothing machine.
Take the 3 minutes.
It’s not about looking fancy. It’s about reminding your brain: “I matter too.”
And if no one’s told you today: You’re doing an amazing job—even when it feels like a mess.
☕ With love & coffee,

have them facetime their cousin so I
could get a few minutes.
